A photography project documenting Beijing's sky.
一组关于北京天空的摄影项目。
The title "Sun Moon Beijing" is a typographic play: removing 日 (sun) and 月 (moon) from 北京 (Beijing) leaves 北月 and 日京 — which together form 背景 (background).
A Beijing without sun and moon becomes nothing but a grey backdrop.
Through photography, the project records and contrasts the city's blue-sky days with its smog-covered ones, documenting a personal experience of living with air pollution.
"日月北京"是一个文字游戏：将"北京"二字中的"日"和"月"提取出来，剩下的"北月"与"日京"恰好构成"背景"一词。
少了日月的北京，就只剩下一张雾霾的背景。
这组摄影作品通过记录和对比北京的蓝天与雾霾天，记录了一段关于空气污染的个人经历。

Night sky over Beijing — moon under clear and smog conditions
All night photographs, placed in contrast: a clear moon against a clean sky, followed by the same moon veiled in smog.
Due to the limitations of a phone camera, these images do not fully capture what Beijing's night sky truly looks like. Still, the difference in light scattering clearly reveals the air quality at the time of each shot.
全部为夜间拍摄的照片，对比摆放：清晰天空下的月亮，与雾霾天空下的月亮。
由于手机镜头的限制，没有把真实的北京夜拍出来，但观者依旧可以从光线的散射范围来明显地感受到当时的空气质量。

Daytime sky over Beijing — morning and sunset
All daytime photographs, taken during morning and sunset. The photos are placed in contrast — one smog day, followed by one blue sky.
The difference in sky color (blue vs. grey) and the size of the sun's halo clearly indicate air quality. None of the images have been color-graded — all were shot directly with an iPhone 6. Some photos are cropped and enlarged to focus on the sky, so they may appear slightly blurred.
全部为白天拍摄的照片，拍摄时间在早上与夕阳两个时间段。照片对比摆放——第一张是雾霾天，第二张就是蓝天。
可以明显从天空的颜色（蓝色/灰色）与太阳光晕大小来判断空气质量的好坏。图片没有经过任何调色，都是用iPhone 6的镜头直接拍下的，但为了主要展现天空，会局部放大，因此有些照片会有些模糊，不够清晰。

Three images created during severe smog days (PM2.5 > 250).
Using black-and-white filters to exaggerate the oppressive atmosphere, these photos channel the physical discomfort of breathing polluted air into visual expression.
三张在严重雾霾天（PM2.5 > 250）创作的照片。
使用黑白滤镜夸张地表现压抑的氛围，将呼吸污染空气时身体的不适感转化为视觉表达。

Park scenes photographed in black and white, with small red dots painted onto the images to represent harmful airborne particles.
By removing color and adding these marks, the invisible threat of air pollution becomes visible.
在公园拍摄的黑白照片上，用画笔添加不规则的小红点，代表空气中弥漫的有害颗粒。
去掉颜色的干扰后，用这些标记让看不见的空气污染变得可见。

口罩
On a smog day, masks were placed on plants and trees in a park.
Do plants really need masks? Perhaps not — but the masks represent the harm this environment causes to all living things, a kind of constraint we all share.
在一个雾霾天，为公园里的花草植物佩戴口罩。
植物是否真的需要口罩？也许不需要——但口罩代表着这样的环境对所有生命造成的伤害，一种我们共同承受的束缚。

葬礼
A lonely tulip with a mask — using selective color to isolate red and green against black and white.
The mask becomes a burial offering: mourning, and a wish to grow somewhere with cleaner air.
一束孤独的郁金香与口罩——使用选择性色彩，只保留红色和绿色，其余均为黑白。
口罩仿佛是殉葬品：是悼念，也是祈福——下辈子生长在一个环境好点儿的地方吧。
